Age: 23 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: RippleClan
Position: Medicine Cat
Personality:
Jaggedstone is not one for light-heartedness or anything less than complete seriousness, really; he does not like cats who don't take everything as seriously as he does, and as a result he comes off as rather arrogant and stand-offish. Which... well, okay, he is stand-offish, but arrogant he certainly isn't. He's actually quite sensitive and easily irritated -- especially if you mention his small size. You just... don't do that. He'll sulk for moons on end and when you're sick, he isn't going to help you.
Jaggedstone is a skilled healer, however -- he learned very quickly from his mentor and could probably list every single herb he knows while patching up an injured cat without thinking about it. He is extremely intelligent and observant, catching small things that most cats wouldn't notice; this might be slightly creepy when he comes up behind a she-cat and tells them that they're pregnant, but really, who else would you want to know more than the medicine cat?
However, don't expect a good conversation from him at any time; he does his work, he isn't there to yammer on about nothing, dang nabbit. Most cats just seem to get on his nerves, and he might be tolerating your presence, he really just wants you to go away. It's just as well he became a medicine cat, or he would have found himself rather lonely in the life of a warrior... surrounding himself with herbs and the whispers of StarClan in his ears is something he does to hold himself away from the other cats in his Clan.
Some cats say he had his heart broken once, but Jaggedstone certainly isn't telling.
Cat Description:
Almost ridiculously tiny, Jaggedstone looks more like a Jaggedpaw than anything else -- thin and neatly-sized, almost like a doll. His tail is long and magnificently plumed; the feathered fur waves gently in the breeze and is apparently rather hypnotising to look at. His muzzle is small and unusually rounded, his ears rather large and bat-like (as though his ears grew but nothing else did) and his legs short and interestingly spindly. He's a bit... over-protective of his appearance, though, so I wouldn't mention his 'cuteness' if I were you.
His fur is thick and soft, as he keeps it clean and sleek (apparently not having a lot to do around the RippleClan camp). It is mainly light grey tabby in colour, the stripes being black and some of his fur (especially on his face and legs) is tinted ginger at the tips. The orange streaks his face in a very easily recognisable way -- you couldn't mistake Jaggedstone for another cat if you tried!
His eyes are naturally large and are a plain middling-green colour, ringed in black and have ginger tabby-ish markings leading away from them.
History:
Jaggedstone's parents -- Lightdream and Silentshadow -- were two normal RippleClan cats, who were close friends when they were apprentices and eventually fell in love as warriors. He was the only kit of his mother's second litter, and so was a little bit spoiled as his older sisters were already warriors and didn't need their mother looking after them anymore. Apparently his fur was all spiky as a kit, hence his name; Jaggedstone personally just thinks that his mother made that up.
He wasn't very sociable with the other kits, so instead he spent a lot of time wandering around camp, occasionally following the medicine cat and learning the names and uses of several herbs and plants. By his sixth moon, the then-Jaggedkit told the leader at the time that he wanted to be the medicine cat apprentice, and his wish was granted.
Being isolated from the cats of his own age group didn't seem to do Jaggedstone any harm, and he had a rather peaceful time with his mentor, learning all that he needed to know about healing extremely quickly. His link with StarClan took a bit of time, however -- on his first trip to the [whatever] his starry ancestors flatly refused to talk to him. Apparently it had something to do with 'testing to see if you truly wished to be a medicine cat', so young Jaggedpaw was eventually accepted into the mysterious ways of a cat with a paw in both worlds.
He was given his warrior -- well, medicine cat, really -- name at seventeen moons, extremely late for a normal apprentice but normal for a medicine cat. He then took over his mentor's role as a fully-fledged medicine cat, and she retired to the elder's den to live out the rest of her days in peace (where no cat could complain about anything in her poor, overworked ears anymore!).
Role-Playing Example:
Light sleepily filtered its way into Jaggedstone's den, rays playing gently across his pale tabby fur and warming it slowly as the sun peered out from behind the thick coverings of the RippleClan camp. The medicine cat grunted and rolled over, slowly beginning to wake up but really not wanting to get up just yet. He hated mornings; every other cat seemed to thrive on them and wanted to talk to him in the mornings, and he didn't want to converse with them, thank you very much.
A growl escaped Jaggedstone's maw as he grudgingly opened his eyes, staring at the cool stone wall of his den before getting to his paws and yawning widely, stretching out languidly. The smooth camp floor slid nicely underneath his paws, and the grey tabby almost gave a relaxed purr as he straightened up and left his den, cool green eyes watching the movements of the warriors disappearing into the territory for the dawn patrol.
Okay, how was going to try and annoy him first?
