Lunarkit blinked opened her blurry bi-colored eyes and looked around the Nursery den. Perfect, mums still asleep she snickered to herself. Slowly she got up and stumbled across the den in her, still, wobbly kit legs. She was only about half the height of a warrior at 5 moons old. She blinked away from the bright light when she emerged from the den. Straightening herself up she padded, unsteadily, through the camp trying to make herself look like an apprentice. Her long blond and grey fur shimmered in the morning light, though she still had her baby fur. She sat down a little ways away from the fresh-kill pile and let the scents of the camp wave over her like a tsunami.

Mosspaw sat quietly out-side the medicine cat's den. He had been sorting herbs he had collected the previous evening. He heard quiet paw steps coming from the direction of the Nursery. The hair on the back of his neck rose and he whipped around. He saw a young kit, and smiled knowingly. He came up to her in three swift and silent bounds and laughed," What are you doing Lunarkit?"

Lunarkit looked up at Mosspaw. "Watching" She smiled. "I like to watch everyone in the camp while mums asleep" She continued. She looked around and watched the warriors and apprentices bustle around. "I can't wait until my warrior ceremony" She meowed in a dreamy voice, she looked up at the sky as if expecting a signal from StarClan that it was her time to get her apprentice name. She sighed and looked at Mosspaw "You know what thats like, right?" She asked.

A gentle rustle of frost encrusted ferns announced the arrival of Snakecharm, emerging into the early morning sunshine. Flicking drops of dew delicately off her paws, she extended her limbs and stretched luxuriously. She savored the warm sun on her pelt as it melted away the night chill. A curt dip of her head was her only greeting to the two young cats as she shook out her fur and sat down for a thorough wash.Her tongue swiped across her velvet pelt, the sun lighting it till it glowed like freshly polished wood, shining like ice.

Mosspaw nodded back to his mentor as she passed and smiled," Well I know what it's like to be a Medicine cat aprrentice but I'm guessing you want to be a warrior?" Mosspaw washed his ears quickly and began to groom him-self. His sleek fur was ragged and he was trying his best to fix that. His eye's fell on his mentors and he smiled, she was so smart! He wanted to be just ike her, unlike Lunarkit indeed.

"Uh? Oh, yeah." She meowed quietly, as if still stuck in her small dream world. She looked back up and waved her tail "Hello, Snakecharm!" She meowed out happily. Lunarkit looked down at her paws, a question was coming. She fixed her blue and green eyes on Mosspaw "What made you decide to become a medicine cat?" She asked curiously. She had always wanted to know, what made cats choose their path.

Snakecharm froze, stopping mid lick as one of her ears swiveled to hear the answer to the question. She had always regretted becoming a medicine cat...and never wanted anyone to regret their choice. Sure, she loved working with herbs and helping her clan...but she had always resented Starclan for taking her brothers before they had even set foot out of the nursery.

Mosspaw thought, hard and searched deep in his heart for the answer. After a while he replied," Well... My dad was the Deputy a long time ago. My mom said he would've died alot sooner if it weren't for the Medicine cat who saved him from..." he couldn't say dieing,"That's why, Lunarkit, I wanted to be a Medicine cat aprrentice." He studied his paws and thought Did I really want this? Yes... Yes I did!

Lunarkit listened intently, quietly. She nodded at the end "Thank you for telling me" She mowed happily, she loved stories from other cats. "It sounds really fun and all to be able to help other cats and all, but I still think I want to be a warrior" She continued. Looking up at Mosspaw she blinked and smiled. "Have you ever healed a cat?" She asked.

The she-cat nodded ever so slightly as her eyes narrowed in approval at her apprentices words. Out of the blue, she stood and padded past them, flicking Mosspaw's shoulder with the tip of her chocolate tail. Her easy, floating gait was pleasnt to look at. Once she had gotten a few steps, she looked back with a twinkle in her eye.
"Would you two like to go hunting?"
She asked, feeling the warm glow and the familiar rebelious prickle in her paws. It had been ages since she had hunted for herself, and Snakecharm was eager for the taste of fresh caught water vole.

Mosspaw smiled," Sure!! By Lunarkit! And beware, the sun is rising and your mother could get up soon." He then turned to his mentor, who looked oh-so eager to go hunting. Mosspaw was just as eager, he hadn't been out huting for some time now.

Lunarkit let out a excited squeal "Can I go too? Puhleeeeeeeease?" She meowed desperately, she began to bounce around in circles, but became dizzy and fell over. She sat up, her eyes crossed then shook her head. "I've never been hunting before! It might be good practice!" She mewled, her eyes big, watery and begging.
